Enable settings for certain users to be able to upvote multiple times, so that CS representatives and sales agents could input feature requests and vote for feature requests on behalf of people they're talking to, as a way to quantify and prioritize feedback coming in from many different channels.

Awesome!!

This feature is now live, try it out and let us know what you think!
A few details:
- You can vote on behalf of anybody who has participated in any of your Canny boards, or create a new user.
- Only teammates will be able to see these voters. Your users can see that someonehas voted (because the score increases) but not the identity of this person.
- We won't email these voters. It'd be strange to receive an email saying "A post you voted on has been marked as fixed" when they didn't actually vote themselves.
Let us know if you have any questions!

Andrew Rasmussen: Looks great! When will this hook into intercom?
Andrew Rasmussen
Xanthic Wildebeest: Thanks! Good question.
We definitely see the value in integrating and staying synced with the various services that store our customers' user data. Intercom is high on the list, and we've already spent some time looking into how it'd work.
That being said, it's a big project. We're currently prioritizing low hanging fruit + polishing what we've got so far while putting together our marketing strategy. Once we've got any updates, you'll be first to know since you voted on https://feedback.canny.io/integrations/p/intercom.

Andrew Rasmussen: Is it possible yet to post on someone else's behalf, or just vote?
Andrew Rasmussen
Corresponding Echidna: Just vote, so the flow would be:
- teammate makes a post
- teammate votes on behalf of user
It feels pretty weird to see a post by you that you didn't write.

Andrew Rasmussen: fair enough. Then the title of this post is a little misleading.
In terms of my workflow, I've had several cases so far where I've added "as submitted by…" in the description to show that I personally didn't submit the request (which would also be weird in some cases).
Andrew Rasmussen
Corresponding Echidna: I hear you. I updated the title of this post and created a separate one for your feature: https://feedback.canny.io/feature-requests/p/be-able-to-post-on-behalf-of-your-users
I suppose if we have this feature, I would have been able to submit it on your behalf. cc product genius Sarah Hum, curious to hear her thoughts.
We do aim to maintain as much simplicity as possible while building out more features / functionality. There's always the lingering concern of making things more complicated in exchange for only a little bit of added value.
Sarah Hum
Corresponding Echidna I think the current flow makes the most sense. Although I understand your intent, I would be quite shocked to see something posted on my behalf.
I'd recommend you either:
a) Make a post and add their vote (as Andrew recommended)
b) Link the person to your board so they can submit their own request. We've been doing this ourselves as it also helps educate them for their future requests.
Happy to hear further thoughts!

Sarah Hum: yeah I agree with you both. An off-hand situation doesn't warrant introducing a new feature. 👍

😊 great. Always happy to talk about how we can do better though!

Hey all, we've been thinking a little more about how an MVP for this might work. Would love hear your thoughts! Does this suit your needs?

Sarah Hum: looks awesome. I would like the intercom integration still!

Sarah Hum: This looks great!

Sarah Hum: After using Canny for a while and doing customer support, I can now confirm I have a need for this integration and facility
Sarah Hum
This is how we're currently thinking it would work. Intercom is currently our top ask for integrations (https://feedback.canny.io/integrations/p/intercom) so it would tie in quite nicely here.
Thoughts Iron grey Parrot? Jacinth Basilisk?

Sarah Hum: We don't use Intercom, so that particular feature wouldn't make a difference to us. The email seems fine, but we'd like a way to vote without requiring email if that means they would get an email notification.
Andrew Rasmussen
Iron grey Parrot: Interesting, what's the value in that? Just to keep track of how many people want something, but not who? Why wouldn't you want to send them an update? How would you avoid voting twice on behalf of the same user?
Just trying to understand your use case a bit better. Appreciate you sharing so much already.

Iron grey Parrot
Andrew Rasmussen: Sure! We'd like to include the name for tracking purposes but don't necessarily want them to be notified because we won't want everyone to have access to the board. We don't want customers necessarily expecting that we'll add a feature in the near future simply because it's been requested numerous times (i.e. don't want to get in the position of giving customers unreasonable expectations). Perhaps this could be solved with a checkbox that we could select when voting on behalf of a user to notify or not notify that user.
Sarah Hum
Thanks for your insights Iron grey Parrot, I've created a post for this here: https://feedback.canny.io/feature-requests/p/option-not-to-notify-all-voters
Andrew Rasmussen
Iron grey Parrot: We definitely should support this. There are many cases where you receive a feature request from a user on Intercom, email, etc and it'd be awesome if you could post/vote on their behalf rather than asking them to go vote.
Just a heads up that I tweaked your title from "Multiple vote for admin/agent" to "Being able to post/vote on behalf of your users" because I think it's a little more accurate to what we'll end up building.
We want to get to this sooner than later.

Andrew Rasmussen: Thanks Andrew! This feature would help us out a lot.
