Hello, I will love to be able to use the platform in spanish to makew it easier to my team.

We need the status update emails to be customizable - we only need to be able to update these four text strings. Our audience is Spanish, and they make no sense to them at the moment.

We need the interface, filters and menus to be translateable to Spanish

We plan to use one board for English language feedback and other board for Spanish language feedback. Setting a board's language and allowing user profiles to have a given language (and only be able to see that language boards) would do the work.

This would be great for us as we are official a Spanish and English based product. I think at a minimum if we could get translation capabilities for the site itself, and not so much the content that would be great.
Andrew Rasmussen
Ian Blumel: You mean for user content? "Translated by Google" type of thing?
Ian Blumel
Andrew Rasmussen: actually more the actual Canny framework in Spanish. "Submit" as "Enviar" for instance. Or "Tell us what you think?" could have a Spanish equivalent, etc.
Auto "Translated by Google" would be Mind Blown... As that would let me confer with multiple global customers in a somewhat universal translator mode.
Andrew Rasmussen
Ian Blumel: Yeah I've always thought the problem with multi-language is that posts will be in different languages... People should be posting and voting on the same thing. Unless we translate it though.
Still holding off on translations for now, but will get to it someday.

Andrew Rasmussen: Hi Andrew, we are running into the same issue as we are launching in Spain (Both English and Spanish are critical to our success).
This could actually be resolved quickly by allowing linking (not merging) of posts so that votes are combined. I could then create boards in each language.
Longer term: you could add language activation in the admin UI and a language switcher in the public-facing UI.
