Hi flipace!
I'm closing this because this functionality exists already. In your personal settings, you can change the language preference to disable automatic translations. If you are the "owner" of a workspace in Canny, you can also disable automatic translations for the entire workspace in your workspace settings. You can learn more in our documentation
Translations were opt-out when we originally built this feature, but have since swapped it to opt-out for new teams.
Let me know if you have any further feedback or need any help!

Adam Laycock hi adam, but this only works when you are already "signed in/up" - if you're just browsing the web and stumble upon a canny board, you'll see all the requests in the translated language and have to click on the "show original" button for every comment/post.
This trend of auto-translating and offering the translated content by default is very odd and a bad direction in my opinion. Not only do you have to differentiate whether content is "original" or AI generated, but now there's an additional layer where sometimes AI generated content is then translated.
Usually, the auto-translated content sounds kinda odd in the translated language - at least for english -> german.

flipace: That's a fair criticism, I'll re-open this post and update the title to reflect the specific concern around unauthenticated users.

Allow opt-out of automatic translations

The automatic user-generated content translations are quite annoying. IMHO this should be opt-in for end users (as certain social media sites do) or at least have an option in the UI to be disabled (even when not logged in)
