I'd like to collect feedback from any website using a Chrome Extension. I could highlight text from the page, tap the Canny chrome extension, and it would auto-populate the selected text and page URL into a new feedback Post. I could then create feedback on behalf of customers from any CRM, ticketing system, etc. without leaving my workflow.

Hi all, we’ve just released our Chrome Extension! It allows you to track feedback from any webpage. Additionally, votes in Canny will be linked to the source URL of the feedback. The Chrome Extension is currently available for all customers on the Business plan.
You can find the Canny extension on the Chrome web store, and read more about how it works on our help docs.

We're considering building out a Chrome extension to help in cases where we don't have a native integration. Some platforms aren't mature enough for us to build the integration we'd want (eg. Hubspot, Help Scout).
We're thinking our Chrome Extension would enable you to create posts and add votes on behalf of a customer from any webpage.
Does that cover the functionality you'd expect? Feel free to leave a comment or send us a message directly.

Sarah Hum: My team previously used the Productboard Chrome extension which passed along the current URL alongside the feedback. This was often used by our support team to associate a Help Scout URL with the reported insight. This allowed our developers to look back at the original communication from the customer if we needed further details.
Ideally the current URL would be available in a custom field that would only be viewable by admins. The ability to submit the insight as an internal comment would also be appreciated since the type of feedback we get through Help Scout is not always relevant to the public.
