Thanks to your feedback, we've just released our Azure DevOps integration!
With this integration, your team can:
- Push Canny posts into Azure DevOps as new work items
- Link Canny posts with existing Azure DevOps work items
- Set rules so that when a work item's status changes, linked Canny posts are updated as well.
Head to your Azure Devops integration settings to get set up.
For more information on our Azure Devops integration, check out our help article.
The Azure DevOps integration is only available for people on our Business plan. Contact us to get a trial and a quote!

Hi all, we're solidifying requirements here and exploring possibilities further. Any additional thoughts/comments on an Azure DevOps integration are appreciated!

Sarah Hum: Yes this would be a game changer for us!! Let us know what requirements you are looking to better understand. Being able to link/create posts in Canny and the Roadmap to Azure backlog items would be fantastic. I imagine you would want to be able to link posts to Epic's/Features/PBI's/Tasks although the Feature and PBI items are most crucial. Being able to sync and provide the descriptions/mockups and other data in dev ops on posts would give more detail to users and allow more feedback in Canny. Then, also passing along the number of votes and status (Planned, etc..) as a field in Azure Dev Ops would be amazing for prioritization purposes.

Sarah Hum: With the uncertainty of the future of Azure DevOps there may be less of a need for this.

Vanilla ice Raccoon: Thank you for your feedback!
Ramiro Olivera
Rose Egret: Do you mind expanding on that? We are definitely building this integration, but would love to hear more about that.

Ramiro Olivera: Hey, Ramiro! I think they may have been referencing Microsoft's inevitable switch to GitHub, but that isn't going to happen anytime soon. Microsoft will be supporting Azure DevOps for another 10+ years. This feature is definitely needed by a lot of Canny users.

Azure DevOps enables teams to organise work, collaborate on code development, and create and deploy apps using developer services. Azure DevOps promotes a collaborative culture and set of practises for developing software by bringing together developers, project managers, and contributors. It enables businesses to build and enhance products more quickly than they could with traditional software development methods.
You may use Azure DevOps Services in the cloud or Azure DevOps Server on-premises. See Azure DevOps Services and Azure DevOps Server for more on the differences between cloud and on-premises solutions.
Azure DevOps has built-in functionality that you may use from your web browser or IDE client. Based on your needs, you can use one or more of the standalone services listed below- https://mobisoftinfotech.com/services/devops

This feature was requested in 2017, and this thread is filled with developers, engineers, PM's, PO's and business executives wondering very much out loud why is has not had any substantial movement (or movement that has been communicated in a meaningful way). The few times I did reach out about this in the chat, I was told to follow the feedback and voice my interest by upvoting.
My teams have escalated to me that this gap is big enough to warrant reviewing other solutions that do have an integration. Andrew Rasmussen or Jacques Reulet - can you be candid with us and let us know the reality of this integration. I can't speak for everyone - but I think most of us understand prioritization and having a backlog that runneth over - but this integration could not get closer to a more complete feedback loop.
Is it an issue with Microsoft or understanding their API? From the integrations you have invested in, there isn't much more that would be any more complicated with Azure DevOps. Inquiring minds want to know! Please and thank you!

Hi Skilled Grouse, thanks for nudging us here. We’re a small team and we have many high-impact projects to work on. Azure DevOps is a very high effort integration so, weighing in other factors we care about, it hasn’t made the cut yet. We will be roadmapping for Q2 in a bit here so you’ll know soon if we prioritize it next quarter.

I am currently attempting to convince the dev team I support to use this tool. Having a direct Azure DevOps integration similar to what you have with GitHub is a vital feature we'd need. Please prioritize this feature request as it would very powerful for many customers.

~Six months on the product as a paying client and no movement on this common integration... you'll win business with this feature. Please prioritize.
