Display both votes by users and votes by users' companies.

Thanks everyone for this feedback! Some questions for you as we consider building this:
- Would you likely have a mixture of both user and company votes? Or purely one or the other?
- If both, would you want them to be displayed as separate counts?
- Should a single user's vote also count as a vote from their company? What if they have multiple companies?
- Where would you want to be able to add a vote on behalf of a company?
- Do you expect Canny to email the company when post statuses are changed? If so, who would you want to get an email?
Any other thoughts are also appreciated!

We have some customers that send all their employees to a post to upvote it, skewing the number of people that actually really want it. Seeing votes by company would help us understand exactly how many customers a change would impact.

Sarah Hum Hopefully some useful feedback from our perspective:
- For us, it's not votes by the company itself, it's sorting the most popular by how many different user companies have voted on them.
- For us, this other total would appear in sensible places (e.g. mini icon in the post list alongside the icons for existing votes/comments/$), and crucially, as a sort option for that same post list.
- For sure. In our case multiple companies is rarely 'real' (normally a trial workspace or bad data), so would happily count the vote against all of the user's companies.
- N/A for us - we're just looking to group by the existing company field.
- N/A - no new entity for our reqs, just sorting by that existing data.

I could probably have explained myself better by saying - functionality identical to 'MRR' in the existing app - it just sums the count of MRR and allows sort by that. We want to sum the count of companies and allow sort by that. 👍

Sarah Hum I think our case is similar to John's as our core issue is having multiple users from a single company upvoting a request, which artificially inflates the upvote counter. We usually think in terms one vote = one paying customer, so in essence we would like to group those single-company votes together. With that in mind:
1) & 2) I think I'd ideally be able to switch between one and the other. The grouping of the single-company votes could be on by default for all the requests, with an option to see individual votes as well. It'd be good to be able to export both. If I understand 2. correctly, I don't think we would need to be able to see both at the same time.
3) Yes, I think of that as "one or many user vote(s) = one company vote". And with multiple companies, we're in the same boat as John, the majority of times those other companies will be trial/test accounts so in most cases it should be okay to just get the first company. It's something we also want to improve on our end as we don't need to send multiple companies data to Canny.
EDIT: Correction, just as I wrote it, I stumbled upon a case that proved me wrong. We have users that will be members of multiple valid paying accounts, albeit this doesn't happen very often. I'd personally do either of the two: a) log only the company account that the user was logged to when adding feedback; b) just log all company accounts and treat them as separate company votes.
4) & 5) I don't think any changes are needed here, I wouldn't treat company votes as something separate from user votes, in my mind it should just group user votes together. So if an admin adds a vote on behalf of a user, this should count towards this user's company vote. Email should also go out to individual users.

In the admin dashboard there is no way to sort posts by the number of unique companies that have voted on a post. This is an important sort for companies where MRR and ARR are less relevant, e.g. those operating on a free or freemium model

This would be great! We'd use that for the reason Andrew Rasmussen mentioned. It would also help with understanding the overall needs/requests for a specific company.

This helps combat the case where few companies want something, but have shared the link to get a lot of their team to vote on it.
Should play nice with segmentation so you could do stuff like "show count of companies that have voted and are paying customers".
