Merged posts should redirect to the parent post instead of showing "Idea not found"

When posts are merged, the original post's URL becomes a dead link that shows an "Idea not found" error ("This idea was not found or may have been deleted"). This is a poor experience for anyone who has bookmarked or shared the original link.
Instead of displaying this error, merged posts should automatically redirect (301) to the parent post they were merged into. This would ensure that existing links remain functional and users are seamlessly taken to the correct, consolidated post.
Attached is a screenshot of the current error page that appears when visiting a merged post's URL.

Thanks for sharing this, Distinguished Impala. You’re right that having merged post URLs turn into an “Idea not found” page is a rough experience for anyone who bookmarked or shared the original link.
A 301 redirect from the merged post URL to the parent post makes a lot of sense here, especially to keep existing links working smoothly.
Appreciate you calling this out and including the screenshot. We’ll share this with the team and let you know when we have an update.
