Merge users who were manually created with those from the SDK

Before publishing the board we pre-seeded it with requests from another tool. We would like to be able to merge these users with the user accounts being generated by the SDK

I just stumbled across this beauty too. I had created users by API when migrating from Jira Service Management and then had different user accounts created by an integration with Gong. The Gong-created user has the [Merge] button greyed out. The API-created user has the [Merge] button active.
I'd be happy to merge the API-created user into the Gong-created user, but the Gong-created user doesn't appear in the list of users to merge into.
I'm guessing that's because it's not valid to merge (delete) - but it should be able to be merged into and force the user to accept the one that can't be merged (delete) as the Primary and therefore Final.

- Can you provide more details about the user data you pre-seeded? What information does it include?
- What specific user account details are being generated by the SDK?
- What is your expected outcome after merging the manually created users with those from the SDK?

Sarah Hum we just provided the user name. We would like to merge these with the SDK accounts containing email addresses.

Once merged we would expect all posts/comments/votes to be updated with the merged details.

Hey Juniper Halibut, if the manually created user had an email address, Canny should merge it for you. In this case, the merge would need to be done manually because we can't be sure they are the same person. You should be able to see a "merge users" button on their profile. More about that here.
