Filter/customize notifications

For in-app notifications, admins should be able to customize which ones they get (ex. just mentions, just new posts, etc)

Improved notifications are here! These improvements are great if your team has a very active Canny site and you want to filter to what's most relevant to you.
From the notifications page, you can filter by board and activity type.
Your selection will also affect what shows up in your notifications badge count and preview. Enjoy!

Hi everybody! I'm Mert, an engineer at Canny. I will be building this feature and hope to have it completed in the next few weeks.

Would be great if we could filter notifications by:
-Post creations
-Mentions
-Comments
-Votes
This is especially useful if:
-Notifications volume is high
-There's more than one admin
-Each admin would like to isolate their own mentions first, to be able to prioritize follow-ups

Notifications for certain boards

It would be really nice to have notifications turned off/on for certain boards. I don't want to be notified for ALL of my boards all the time, it makes the notifications useless for me, as it is way too many.

I regularly log in to see 100+ notifications, and have no way to filter out the ones that I need to take action on. This is my least favorite thing about Canny, currently, and really holding back my full utilization of the platform.

We are new to the system, but can already tell that this would be a very useful feature! I can already see how notifications get lost.
It would be nice to be able to filter notifications by "staff vs users" so i can just see new posts and new comments from users.

Due to the volume of feedback we are now seeing, the Notifications screen is not very useful. The most important notifications for me to see are when I am mentioned in discussion, however those notifications get lost in a sea of other notifications regarding post creation, comments, status updates, etc.
I'm currently feeding all Canny feedback into a firehose channel in Slack where I have set up a Slack notification to alert me when my Canny username is mentioned. This obviously isn't ideal and I would prefer to use the notification system in Canny.

Sarah Hum This would be a great addition ;) Important notifications are now being drowned and missed at times of high volume.

I agree,bI help moderate a media database, so we have users of the site report information that can be changed or added to the pages of the thousands of entries in the database via Canny as well as other things like bugs or site feature requests, but those two are handled by other members of the team. Basically, notification volume is pretty high across 5 categories.
I'm often relied upon to translate sources of information, but because I get notifications for every single post that is made including the ones in the bugs and feature requests categories, those posts where someone specifically asks for my help to translate something ends up being lost in all of the other notifications. I think being given the option to limit notifications to @ mentions, certain categories, or replies to threads where I commented, etc. would be very useful.
