Please put a button in the top that takes you back to Public view easily on Canny 2.0 admin pages, make it work the same way as the button on 1.0

Absolutely. There needs to be a link to quickly access the public view (or switch between public and admin views) from anywhere on the admin panel. Maybe even the top nav/header.
