To elaborate on this, we have three teams that interact with Canny. Customer Success and Support add posts on behalf of our customers to track feedback. They just need the ability to add posts with tags and categories.
Next, we create roadmaps to track feedback we'd like to address. Our developers then asynchronously go into the roadmap and:
- Mark themselves as the post owner
- Set the post status to "In Progress"
- Make a Github issue and attach it to the post
- Work on the issue/feature until its finished
- Set the post status to "Ready for Release"
I think this makes sense for closing the feedback loop, especially with the recent introduction of Roadmaps.
Presently, the developer would have to use the "Manager" role to do all of this. That gets pretty expensive, and really they're only using a small subset of features. Having a free/cheap role for this would be excellent!
