Add feedback via email

Every board should have a unique (auto-gen) email address. When an email is sent to the unique address a new post is added. This way when we receive feature or bugs via email we can forward it to this unique address to auto generate a post.

A user pointed out that they have set up a process to extract email text and send that over to Canny's AI endpoint for Autopilot to extract feedback.
That may be a helpful workaround for this specific request, but we'll keep you posted if and when this feature is advanced for development. Feel free to reply if there's anything I can clarify!

Is this on the horizon? It's the one thing stopping us from switching. Our cancellation feedback is collected via plain text email as it gets the highest response rate but it's a pain to get it into Canny if we can't simply forward the email on. Tools like Conflux, ProductBoard and EnjoyHQ have this feature so not sure why it's missing from Canny....

It'd be great to forward an email from our general inbox to Canny so the response is added as feedback. Similar to the issue addressed here by Sam. Andrew Rasmussen

Andrew Rasmussen what's your thought about this one. How big deal is to add this one. This way we don't have to share the board with users to enter the bugs as we don't want the bugs to be available publicly. We can just ask them to email us with screenshots and it will turn into a beautiful post on Canny :)
Andrew Rasmussen
Willow Tapir: My immediate concern is that duplicate posts will get created and it'll just turn into an unorganized list of posts with 1 vote. What's the point of using Canny for this?
If we built https://feedback.canny.io/feature-requests/p/api-to-submit-suggestions then you could hook this up via your own form and our API, but this doesn't fix the duplicates issue.

Andrew Rasmussen: Honestly Andrew we get a lot of duplicates via the default form as well and we have to manually delete it a lot of time. So I guess I don't mind the duplicates we can delete and upvote it manually if we see duplicates.
Yes we can probably fix it but your form is beautiful so I would rather love to just embed. Ideally it would be awesome to do something very similar to intercom and i did a quick mockup too https://feedback.canny.io/feature-requests/p/instant-bugfeature-form
Andrew Rasmussen
Willow Tapir: I see. I think the root problem is you want an organized place to keep track of bugs without exposing them to your users.
Given that, I think the best we can do for now is expose creating posts via api. Then you could create a simple form: title, details (how to reproduce), screenshots
How's that sound? Is there a particular reason you'd like users to email rather than fill out a form?

Andrew Rasmussen: Sounds like plan to me :) this way we can probably do the instant bug form like intercom our self. I plan to add it to wordpress admin dashboard.
Thank you so much for your prompt response and considering the request.
Andrew Rasmussen
Willow Tapir: cool, we'll probably need to hook up creating users via api too. Do you have any kind of timeline for this project?

Andrew Rasmussen: Not really. You can take time.
