Admins should be able to add tags to more specifically categorize posts. I'm not sure if they'll show up publicly, but admins should also be able to filter the post list by tag.

Sarah Hum IMO it's hard to discover the tag feature because on the post editing UI, the tag section is not visible if you don't have any tag created.
I would recommend to add the possibility to create tags from the post UI. See screenshot: https://d.pr/i/vUjHXC

Alright, here's the tags MVP! They're board-specific so go to your board settings > tags and try it out.

Thanks to the people who chimed in to my last post. Based on your feedback we decided to simplify the experience even more:
– Only admins can create, manage, and add tags
– Users cannot see or add tags
– Admins can search/filter posts by tag
– Tags are set per board

Sarah Hum: hmmm. I'd vote users should be able to see the tags (perhaps a configurable option under admin).
For our purposes I want use the tag to highlight if the feature is web, mobile, or specific main feature related. Tags would have been the best way to do that, but would need users to see it as well.

Hey guys, we're starting to think about how a tags MVP might work. So far we're thinking:
– Only admins can create/manage tags
– Users can add tags to their post, admins can edit a post's tags
– Admins can search/filter posts by tag
– Tags are company-wide, not per board
Is there anything missing here that is crucial for you? We'd love to hear your comments.

Sarah Hum: I think it would be nice if tags could be per board. We would be using different boards for different products, so a tag that might be applicable for one board might not be applicable for another, so we wouldn't want users to see tags that aren't applicable for the board that they are on.

Sarah Hum: I think that tags should be restricted to admins - they are the ones for whom organization is key. Users may not be tagging things in a way that the product or marketing teams have agreed upon.

Andrew Rasmussen: Great question. For our internal team use, right now I believe that they should be able to see all tags. That said this feeling may change in the future. We have all sorts of project names that are only common knowledge to certain dev teams, marketing, or product teams that will not really apply to our customer service or sales teams. So, this may end up causing more confusion.
For our clients boards, I actually don't think that I would ever want them to see tags.

Yup. Tags would be great for segmenting out things like: IOS, Android, Web App. especially for UI specific requests
