Private boards

For use cases that call for a more private solution such as:
– Beta testing groups
– Internal team feedback
We're thinking a private board would take a list of emails who would get emails to access the board.

This is critical for us. We'd like to keep it invite only for now and currently there's no way, the link can get leaked, etc. We will need more than just @company.com as we have a diverse group.

We're going to build out board access to @company.com emails (via Google auth) as the first version of privacy. This would enable restricted access to internal teams.
I'd love to hear if more people are interested in the beta testing use case.

Sarah Hum: Just wrote you re anonymized boards, and it actually stems from our interest in running a beta program and using Canny as a mechanism to collect feedback. +10 for this feature!

I'd love to see this as we're considering Canny for our beta group for our app and the beta group is email-invite-only. It'd be great if you could add email addresses to a private board and those people would receive a Canny sign up email.
Then, it would also be helpful to allow one private board to share the permission settings of another board. This is useful because we want to have a Beta Group Bugs Board and a Beta Group Feature Requests Board but don't want to have to keep all the email addresses in sync.
Lastly, it might make sense to change the title of this to something like "Restricted Access for Private Boards" since I think "Private Boards" is already a feature that means something different in Canny (non-indexable by search engines).

Thanks for the feedback Stale Muskox. Sounds like a good solution for this would be an "audience" feature where you can add your email list and be able to select audiences for different boards.
