Infinite Scroll

I find that requiring the user to manually click 'load more' leads to a "rich-get-richer" effect of voting because many folks don't look past the first page.
Could we have an infinite scroll that loads more posts?

Can we extend this to the embedded widget as well.

At Expo we would like to see this too! Shared Hawk pointed it out

Spatial Orangutan, Shared Hawk: I hear ya loud and clear!
Do you want it for the widget, or just expo.canny.io? Part of the reason we've been holding off is because adding infinite scrolling to an iframe sounds pretty challenging. Setting it up for *.canny.io but not widget sounds pretty reasonable.

Andrew Rasmussen: I would be fine with just a CSV/Excel export for what I want, actually. I upvoted that one as well.
Andrew Rasmussen
Shared Hawk: Interesting. Does JSON work? If so, check out our API: https://canny.io/docs/api#list_posts.

Andrew Rasmussen: ah cool. i didn't realize you had an API. i would still like a download to CSV thing as well but the API will be better than writing a python script to deal with the copy/pasted thing. thanks!
Andrew Rasmussen
Shared Hawk: Sure thing. We'll probably want to do CSV at some point.
Would be curious what you're trying to do in a spreadsheet?
You can find your API Secret Key here btw: https://expo.canny.io/admin/settings/api

Infinite scroll with static header

My interest in reading posts decreases the more I click "load more". Adding an infinite scroll would increase the amount of posts I read and vote on before closing out. I assume the people that read my list do this as well. I would be extremely interested in seeing the average number of "load more" clicks before someone closes out. I believe requests inspire other requests and being able to quickly post a request after seeing a request would be helpful. Making the header static would allow users to more quickly create a post and reduce the need to scroll to the top to do so. This would be even more helpful if the infinite scroll is added.

Agreed. Our software has over 200 feature requests, many of which may never make the first page. Infinite scroll may be one solution but another for "Trending" may help as well.

Hey Amethyst Bovid, definitely agree with you that infinite scroll would make it feel a bit less like "These posts are the top 10, nothing else matters".
Another useful feature that surfaces other posts is our similar post suggester. While you compose a new post, we suggest similar ones to avoid dupes.
Definitely think we should build this, probably have higher priority things to work on, would love to see more traction first. Thanks for the feedback!
